PBCares Food Lifeline Food Frenzy Fund
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw 1/9 people struggle with hunger in Washington state, with 1/6 of these people being kids. Unfortunately as the pandemic remains a public health crisis, we expect that by the end of the year 1/5 Washingtonians could be facing hunger. In 2019, just over 1 million people visited food banks and pantries, but in 2020 so far, the number has raised to over 2.2 million individuals, with 40% of those people using food assistance programs for the very first time. PitchBook has decided to participate in Food Frenzy - a virtual fundraising competition with local Washington companies to raise money for Food Lifeline. Food Lifeline is an organization whos mission is to end hunger in Washington (a cause more important than ever now). They distribute food through a partnership with 300 food banks, shelters, and meal programs, enabling them to provide 134,000 meals every single day. They work to end hunger for the future by addressing root causes including systemic inequality and social justice through advocacy efforts to shape local and state policy. Food Lifeline also diverts food from landfills to help protect the environment while feeding hungry residents. Please consider donating to our goal of $5,000 by October 2nd! Did you know that $1 provides 5 meals for Food Lifeline!? For any employee who contributes the equivalent of 100 meals ($20) in this fund - PBCares will host a raffle at the end of the campaign with 5 opportunities to win prizes ranging from gift cards to swag to electronics!

The caregivers provide $18.6 billion hours of unpaid care, a contribution to the nation valued at more than $244 billion. In 2020, Alzheimer’s disease will cost the United States $305 billion. This number is projected to rise to more than $1.1 trillion in 2050. Event The world may look a little different right now, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to ending Alzheimer’s. This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is everywhere – on sidewalk, track and trail. Raleigh, NC will walk on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Your health and safety are our top priorities. We won’t have a large in-person gathering – instead, we invite you to walk in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. Because we are all still walking and fundraising for the same thing: a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Every dollar you donate will help the Alzheimer’s Association provide care and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s. Please consider supporting Cisco’s efforts with a donation. Thank you for your support! #ASN #WeAreCisco #WalktoEndAlzheimers Have Questions? 2020 Hurricane Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund

2020 Hurricane Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund
Hurricane Laura, classified as a Category 4 Hurricane, made landfall in Louisiana in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 27. With wind speeds of up to 150 mph, the storm has already resulted in widespread damage to the region, as well as dangerous flash floods, power outages, and the potential for tornadoes in the surrounding states. The last time there was a storm of this magnitude was more than 100 years ago. Simultaneously, COVID-19 cases continue to be on the rise in Texas and Louisiana. On the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Ivan striking the Gulf Coast, the same area finds itself picking up the pieces after Hurricane Sally made landfall as a Category 2 storm at Gulf Shores and Orange Beach at 4:45 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2020. As it slowly crawled to shore, the monster storm gained strength which means that this area of Alabama, and then quickly followed by the panhandle of Florida, endured hours and hours of rain and storm surge. This caused mass flooding and destruction, across a wide stretch of the Gulf Coast. We know that when disaster strikes, a wave of helpers always follow. Because Hurricane Laura was just a few weeks ago, many disaster relief organizations were already down on the Gulf and could transition some or all of their team to be in place to respond to the wrath of Sally. We have established The 2020 Hurricane Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund to support the communities impacted by the storm. This Fund includes pre-vetted nonprofits providing emergency response in the region. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. We have initially selected organizations that are working to provide immediate relief; the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about the needs on the ground.
