It is disheartening to see that even in this 21st century, there are many villages in India where access to nutritious food is a rarity. Friends Forever is a non-profit organization that works with several Indian organizations to reduce hunger and malnutrition by providing free vegetarian meals for several villages in North India.

Our work combines emergency relief with development. We provide life-saving humanitarian aid such as food packs and blankets during the harsh winter. We support long-term livelihoods by helping farmers, training women entrepreneurs, creating jobs and giving cash grants. And we support families by running primary health clinics, nutrition services and education projects. We focus on supporting the most vulnerable populations such as women, girls, orphaned children, people with disabilities and older people. We work closely with other humanitarian organisations and UN agencies. In 2022 we announced a major new partnership with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) to inject cash into the economy, boost food production and support small businesses across Afghanistan. This is the common fund for a collection of Indian NGOs that support Impoverished children in their Food, Education, and Employment needs. This project will enable children and youth in our community in rural Uganda to plant gardens and fruit trees. The gardens provide an opportunity for environmental education and learning about sustainable farming, while also producing nutritious foods for the needy people. Learning about sustainable farming, while also helping to raise food for poor and needy people is very empowering . This program improves child nutrition and health, increases attendance and enthusiasm for learning, and demonstrates to families how they can continue to farm and help the environment. We hope the success of the programs will inspire others in the region to implement similar projects.

From our practical experience at For Change working with numerous families at risk, we've observed that no matter what we do with the children, achieving success becomes very difficult if we don't work comprehensively with the parents. The idea is to engage parents and extend the family circle to change their attitudes and priorities. They should realize their roles and responsibilities and be willing to shift their priorities. We want to engage specialists such as social workers, medical professionals, psychologists, lawyers, and others, if necessary, to help the parents to create a plan for change. With the donations from this fund, we will provide support in dealing with institutions, offering assistance, counseling, and any other necessary help to the parents so that they can raise their children in safer environment.

Dear VMware colleagues, Being inspired by the charity causes & missions of Vietbay Teens, a group of teenage kids from many high schools in the Bay Area, I'm currently helping them with organizing their annual charity fundraising event and the celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival for children in the Bay Area. Hence, I would like to ask for your support of their fundraising campaign happening in the upcoming October. Witnessing many heartbreaking stories of victim families during the peak of the devastating COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam, this group of high school students formed back in 2021 with the mission to provide support and remedy the consequence of the pandemic. They organized fundraising events, worked both in-person and overseas with many non-profit organizations in Vietnam to support hospitals and COVID patients. As a result of their initiatives in last two years, they were able to sponsor thousands of N95 masks for hospitals in Vietnam and dozens of thousands of FREE meals for COVID-19 patients in 2021 and cancer patients in 2022 who are in difficult situations. This year, they will work with the Hearts for Hue Foundation, a NGO in Vietnam ( https://heartsforhue.org/ ) in supporting people with disabilities and healthcare and educational initiatives. Additionally, a portion of raised money is also used to organize the culture activities in Mid-Autumn Festival for the children & families in the Bay Area.
