Ethnic and geopolitical competition among DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, and various non-state armed groups fuel the fighting. Decades of war, violence, and poverty have claimed the lives of over five million people. An absence of schools, health care, and reliable income-generating opportunities hinder communities’ ability to emerge from the crisis. We have created this fund to provide relief to survivors in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild. Since 2010, January has been nationally recognized as National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Human trafficking exists in many forms, including forced labor, sex trafficking, forced marriage, criminal exploitation, and domestic servitude, and is a deep and pervasive issue all over the world. According to the U.S. Department of State, there are estimated to be 24.9 million adults and children who are subject to human trafficking around the globe. The following organizations are committed to the fight to end human trafficking through education, prevention, advocacy and policy while also providing various forms of support to human trafficking survivors.

Direction Digital is a project focused in digital inclusion primarily for girls in Brazil. It enables continuing development of new school teachers in educational digital technologies, community orientation and resources to families in remote areas to have access to education digitally, specially after COVID-19. Funds will provide resources deployed to families with girls from 04 to 14 years old, food and school supplies for the most vulnerable students and develop monitors as village leaders.

Thousands of people across East Africa are at high risk due to recent conflict, inflation, hunger and climate change. Communities in countries including; Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia are facing severe drought leading to food and water shortages. Over 23 million people are facing severe shortages of food and water. Recent conflict in Sudan has caused thousands of refugees to flee and seek shelter in neighbouring countries; South Sudan, DR Congo, Chad and Central African Republic which now are in need of emergency supplies and services.

There was insufficient progress from world leaders in 2021, despite numerous opportunities at the G7, G20, and COP26 meetings. We have created this fund to improve opportunities for women and girls around the world, address the systemic barriers that keep people in poverty, and halt the climate crisis. Did you know? Malaria is a disease found in hundreds of countries worldwide, and over 3 billion people are at risk. Preventing the childhood Malaria Death Project is an initiative to protect children, particularly those under five, from the devastating impact of malaria in the Democratic Republic of Congo. For these vulnerable children, their ongoing fight against malaria does not only have broader implications for their long-term development, and it is a matter of life or death. This project provides families with malaria prevention education, lifesaving medicines, and effective and scientifically proven vector control technologies such as insecticide-treated mosquito nets. The goal is to protect 200,000 fewer children. Five years against malaria-related deaths and disabilities through a combination of interventions: in addition to universal coverage net bed distributions, activities include training of community health workers. This training improves knowledge and practices for malaria prevention and treatment and partnerships with radio stations to disseminate messages on malaria prevention and control practices in DRC. The Rohingya are a Muslim minority community that has lived for centuries in Myanmar, where they have long suffered persecution. In August 2017, having become the targets of a military-led campaign of brutal violence, over 700,000 Rohingya fled Myanmar’s Rakhine state into Bangladesh, joining hundreds of thousands more who had fled Myanmar during a previous exodus. The refugees settled in Cox’s Bazar, where hillsides were quickly cleared of trees and vegetation to accommodate the massive influx of traumatized families and children. These refugees depend on humanitarian aid for shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, and child education. The storm has forced thousands to evacuate, prompted dozens of water rescues, swept away vehicles, and caused widespread damage. California has gone from extreme drought to extreme flooding in a few days. On Monday, 90% of the state’s population was under a flood watch. The vast majority of homeless veterans (96%) are single males from poor, disadvantaged communities. Homeless veterans have served in World War II, Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the military's anti-drug cultivation efforts in South America.While only 8% of Americans can claim veteran status, 17% of our homeless population is made up of veterans.About 1.5 million veterans are considered at-risk of homelessness. At risk is defined as being below the poverty level and paying more than 50% of household income on rent. It also includes households with a member who has a disability, a person living alone, and those who are not in the labor force. The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges. Such restrictions will force those seeking an abortion to travel across state lines to receive care. We view the right to abortion as a fundamental human right, essential for equality, health, and dignity. Restrictions on abortion access and funding are discriminatory, and these restrictions especially burden low-income patients.
