Residents of Maui have suffered widespread devastation as wildfires ravage the Hawaiian island, along with Hawaii’s Big Island. Over 50 people have been killed, homes and businesses have been wiped out, and nearly 11,000 customers grapple with power outages. The fires, fanned in part by strong winds from Hurricane Dora, have not yet been contained, and the extent of the damage isn’t fully known. Rebuilding the island will likely take months or even years. We have created this fund to provide relief to survivors through emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine, in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild. The following organizations are providing shelter, food, clothing, medical care, support, and other necessary resources, and your donation to this Fund will help support these organizations to provide critical aid to the impacted communities. We climb for awareness of sacrifices made by firefighters every-where. Each year, approximately 100 firefighters die while serving their communities. We will climb in the spirit of remembrance of the courage and honor displayed by those 403 fallen Emergency Responders. We climb to care for the firefighters who continue to assume these risks and for the families who share them.

The program oversees mentoring and training to teach Women literacy and business skills. This included the preparation and selling of food items and learning sewing skills. This program has trained over 1,600 women. As women become literate they discover they can make informed decisions that will impact their family for generations. Help fund materials, costumes, awards, and food for our annual Hispanic Heritage Night. We are majority second language learners from Mexico attending school in Conyers, Georgia, and we take pride in sharing this beautiful culture during the school year especially Hispanic heritage Month ( September 15-October 15 ).

Various states in the Northeastern United States have been hit with significant flash flooding beginning July 9, 2023, leading to catastrophic damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. The following organizations are currently on the ground providing meals, supplies, shelter, search & rescue, and medical services to those impacted while evaluating long-term recovery needs within each community. Your donation to this Fund will help support short and long-term recovery for those impacted.

A small but highly trained band of medical and technical rescue experts, The "Latschenkopf" mountain rescue team's rescue station (built in 1934), has aged somewhat. Despite the valiant efforts of countless hours invested by every team member over several generations, some structural changes now need to be made: - Fire safety regulations stipulate a second emergency exit and a new staircase - Our wood fired oven (for both heating and cooking) is entirely rusted and broken down - The hallway's floor is poor, old concrete and needs a new concrete layer and tiles - A shower is direly needed with increasing numbers of rescue missions, which leave us rather sweaty every time, with no time for proper hygiene. - Additional medical gear demands its space and we need to renovate our office/wardrobe area to make space for additional backpacks Please help us in collecting the required funds, to enable us to provide our rescue services in a very busy hiking area and ski resort

If you're interested to support the mountain rescue cause further, please check out this other Fund: https://vmware.brightfunds.org/funds/rescue-station-renovation The mountain rescue vehicle of a team from the Munich Mountain Rescue chapter suffers from poor lights, which it needs to upgrade to allow safe handling in rough terrain, and working near and around the vehicle. They obtained a quote from a specialist for 2,000€ which would allow them to add supplemental headlights, search lights, and nearfield surround lights. At this time, their headlights barely show the way ahead and they drive in rough terrain at night a lot. Your contribution would make the lives of our first responders safer! We are a charity supporting various mountain rescue organisations, mainly the Munich chapter and are collecting these funds for the lights upgrade.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor the victims and survivors of childhood cancer. The American Cancer Society reports that approximately 9,910 children in the United States under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer in 2023. Cancer is currently one of the leading causes of death in children in the United States, and the leading cause of death in children by disease. The following organizations are working towards a shared mission of ending childhood cancer and supporting children and families impacted by a pediatric cancer diagnosis. These organizations are providing supportive services for children and families impacted by pediatric cancer and utilizing research and advocacy to innovate medical treatments and increase awareness surrounding pediatric cancer in an effort to find a cure.

World Humanitarian Day, recognized each year on August 19th, honors humanitarian aid workers for their bravery and sacrifice when providing relief to those in need. Humanitarian relief workers are often exposed to dangerous environments and harsh conditions when providing relief in an effort to ensure the wellness of our world's most vulnerable and reducing suffering, putting their own safety at risk to do so. The following organizations provide humanitarian relief in a multitude of ways to communities around the globe experiencing a crisis. Your donation to this Fund will help these organizations, and the humanitarians who represent them, continue their mission of providing relief to communities impacted by war, poverty, disaster, hunger, illness, and violence in an effort to create a safe and compassionate world for all.

This fund will focus on rebuilding schools heavily impacted by a natural disaster in south of Brazil. Elementary School Nossa Senhora de Fatima and Preschool Soneca had lost most of its facilities and resources due to the strongest extratropical cyclone in Santo Antonio da Patrulha since 1961; Over 500 children are now unsupported with education and day care. The fund will direcly support the local community to rebuild school`s facilities, furnish classrooms, a new library, purchase IT equipment and focus on expanding the resources to increase number of full-time program capacity to help most vulnerable kids in Jau area.

How to donate: We are collecting non-perishable food items in our offices or you can make a monetary donation directly via Bright Funds. A fund has been created in Bright Funds for Feeding America, or you can donate to a local food pantry of your choice. If you aren’t near an office, but would still like to participate, items can be taken to a local food pantry. After donations have been made, send a photo of the items or the monetary donation receipt to your selected territory’s intern listed below. How scoring works: • 1 point = $1 (or one item) • Gift matching contributions via Bright Funds will not count toward the total, but employees with gift matching left for 2023 are encouraged to match their donation • If you are not officially assigned to a territory, you can select whichever one you’d like to support in the competition • Regardless of how you donate, send an email that includes the number of items or dollar amount you donated to the intern for the territory you wish to contribute to. Brave Space Alliance is a Chicago-based organization that was created to fill a gap in the organizing of and services to trans and gender-nonconforming people. Currently, very few LGBTQ social services or advocacy networks exist on the South and West Sides of Chicago. Furthermore, the few trans-specific resources in the city are located in majority-white neighborhoods on the North Side, which are inaccessible geographically, and also regularly result in the hyper-policing of trans people of color who attempt to access them.
