RTP Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2020 Fund
Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the North Carolina and an 161% increase in deaths since 2000. There are approximately 5 million Americans living with the disease and one in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Between 2000 and 2018, deaths from Alzheimer’s has increased 146%. In terms of caregiving, there are more than 16 million caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias in the United States. The caregivers provide $18.6 billion hours of unpaid care, a contribution to the nation valued at more than $244 billion. In 2020, Alzheimer’s disease will cost the United States $305 billion. This number is projected to rise to more than $1.1 trillion in 2050. Event The world may look a little different right now, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to ending Alzheimer’s. This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is everywhere – on sidewalk, track and trail. Raleigh, NC will walk on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Your health and safety are our top priorities. We won’t have a large in-person gathering – instead, we invite you to walk in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. Because we are all still walking and fundraising for the same thing: a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Every dollar you donate will help the Alzheimer’s Association provide care and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s. Please consider supporting Cisco’s efforts with a donation. Thank you for your support! #ASN #WeAreCisco #WalktoEndAlzheimers Have Questions? North America, Can you Step Up to the Challenge? Fund
The Challenge You may have seen in May when RAF Financial Analysts Roland Camacho and Dylan Johnston out of the Edmond, Oklahoma office led a virtual helping hands event for the West Territory. Well, they’re doing it again and challenging all of North America to join in on the challenge. We will be walking the week of September 14th and your daily steps Monday through Friday that week will count towards an individual and team competition. The Goals We want to feel connected while we are still apart, we want to raise money for a good cause and we are encouraging everyone to stay active. The Charity We will be raising money for Feeding America and the American Red Cross, in light of all the recent natural disasters. If you are joining the challenge from outside of U.S., and would like to add additional charities to support North America, please let us know. Our recommendation is that each person donates a penny per step on their daily average – that means that if you walk the recommended 10,000 steps daily, we’d ask you donate $100 to the fund with a maximum recommendation of $100, so don’t worry if you blow past 10,000 steps. Also, if you’d like to join the step challenge but aren’t ready to donate, that is fine as well. Tracking Progress There are many ways to track your daily steps via the Health app on your Smartphone, Smartwatch or download the StepUp Pedometer from your app store. In order to track your steps for the challenge, we ask that you can email or text your daily steps to Carollann Romo. (Carollann.romo@raboag.com, 661-904-7558) We will have updates for the team challenges throughout the week. Currently the teams are broke out to Wholesale, DLL, Pacific Territory RAF/RDS, West Territory RAF/RDS, East Territory RAF/RDS, Central Territory RAF/RDS, Vendor Finance and RDS. You can choose your team or let us know if we missed a group. As you’re walking, please take a picture too and we’ll use them to put together a recap video. The Competition Each of the top three individuals with the most steps will receive $100 in their Bright Funds account to donate to a charity of their choice, this is thanks to the Health and Wellness Committee. We will also be tracking the team winners. There are two team winners, one will be based on the total number of steps and another will be on the average steps per person.

Fundraising for Covid-19 Research in memory of Luigi Cirillo (Italy-VMCT)
(The above value already takes into account the Cisco match) follows the text in Italian We have all been affected by the untimely death of our dear former colleague, and friend for many, Luigi. We are bound to him by many years of working together, a chat at the coffee machine, or just some quick jokes exchanged walking in the aisles of the office ... memories that all of us will hold inside and will make us smile when thinking of him. In these months we have learned to stay away from each other, we have accepted the unacceptable, not being able to embrace those who were greeting us forever in one last hug. We have been forced to practice social distancing, but we have not resigned ourselves to losing our humanity, our need to be together and our ability to make ourselves feel present even when physical presence is not possible. Aware of how little is still known about coronavirus, we want to try to make Luigi and his family feel all our affection by proposing a fundraising campaign in favor of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, to finance a research project on COVID-19. For details on the purpose of the collection you can refer to the Foundation website: https://www.fondazioneveronesi.it/ricerca/aree-di-ricerca If you want to make a contribution in this great battle, for and together with Luigi, you can make a donation here. Cisco will automatically double the amount donated by employees. Non-Cisco employees will also be able to donate can make the donation using this link https://www.fondazioneveronesi.it/donazioni/dona-ora and specifying “Covid-19 Research - in memory of Luigi Cirillo” with email to donazioni@fondazioneveronesi.it . At the end of August 2020 we will make a report with the names of those who participated in this fundraising campaign, completed by the photos we have of Luigi, and we will deliver it to his family. In thanking you, we want to hold you all in a big hug by stealing a slogan coined for this period: #DISTANTBUTNEAR ***** ***** Tutti noi siamo stati colpiti dalla prematura scomparsa del nostro caro ex-collega, per molti amico, Luigi.

COVID-19 Relief Effort for India Fund
The COVID-19 pandemic marks an unprecedented time in modern history that will require the best of humanity to overcome. The new coronavirus has taken thousands of lives and spread to nearly every country in the world. Your donation to this fund will support immediate and long-term relief and recovery in vulnerable communities during one of the most challenging times we have collectively faced. This crisis threatens everyone's way of life, but it is especially difficult for people who are already vulnerable, including those with pre-existing medical conditions, older adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, refugees and migrants, wage workers, and those with inflexible jobs. Your donation to this fund will help stop the virus's spread and give communities on the front lines of the crisis the resources they need to act quickly and protect the most vulnerable. Donations are already helping to: - Send doctors, nurses, and other front line responders to communities in need - Get masks, ventilators, and other lifesaving medical supplies to hospitals and clinics - Deliver essential items to struggling families and older individuals in quarantined cities and refugee camps - Feed children that rely on school meals as their only source of nutrition - Support hygiene awareness efforts - And much, much more... Your donation to this fund will help build stronger response capacities in communities in India so that we are all better equipped to face future outbreaks. Indian Women and Child Welfare Trust will send you regular email updates about how your donation has been put to use.
