In memory of Baylor's brother, Brandon Templeton Gray, Cisco SVS would like to help support the Raleigh Rescue Mission. Brandon struggled for many years with drug addiction. This addiction affected his ability to get a job, find housing and overall created a cycle of despair for him. Raleigh Rescue Mission has helped over 750,000 men, women, and children in NC struggling with addiction, trauma, family tragedy, homelessness, and health issues for nearly 60 years. They work to help break these cycles and empower people to rebuild their lives.

We are a team of six Cisco Employees who are walking 50KM to raise money for the Alzheimers Society .. When and Where Why .. The Pavelka Step Challenge has inspired us to keep going with our walking each day and so inspired us to enter the North Downs 50K Walk at the end of September and raise money for this really worth while cause .. If you are able to support our effort with any small amount it would be gratefully received. Julianna Marie Hambaugh, the niece of Chris Bergeson (Stapler Purchasing) and Mike Bergeson (Stapler Manufacturing), recently passed away at the age of 23 from primary peritoneal cancer, a rare cancer of the peritoneum, the tissue that protects the abdominal cavity and the outer surface of the organs in the abdomen. The Stapler Team would like to support the Bergesons by spreading awareness and raising money for organizations that support young people with cancer and conduct cancer research. Next year my friend (Sam Atter) and me (Hayden Stobbs) want to do something challenging for our 30th birthdays by pushing ourselves to the absolute limit. For the past year, we have been training to complete a 1000 mile cycling tour from Hiroshima to Tokyo in March 2020. As we only have 10 months to go, we thought this was the perfect time to try and raise some money for charity. To test ourselves before our trip to Japan, we will also be completing a smaller 250+ mile segment in the the lake district later this year. If for some reason this turns out to be too difficult for us, then we will adjust the mileage in Japan as necessary. The aim is to complete the challenge over 30 days so to do this, we are going to cycle 50 miles per day, 5 days a week, and spend the weekends resting. We will be recording as much footage as possible, with live blogs wherever we are able to do so. We will be starting from Hiroshima taking winding routes over various smaller islands and mountains before heading back to the mainland towards Tokyo. There is still a lot of planning to do! As of March 1st 2019 our training regime has began to ramp up! I (Hayden) will personally be putting in 1-2 hours per day on Zwift, with the aim to be out on the bike every other weekend for 6-8 hours. The charity we have chosen to raise money for is Cancer Research UK. Whether we like it or not Cancer touches all of our lives, so we thought we'd try and make a positive impact and help those in need a long the way. Many thanks! Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Fighting Blood Cancers since 1949 "Every 3 minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer" There are too many of us who have people in our lives who are currently fighting or have fought battles with cancer. My family has had a personal battle with Myeloma - a Blood Cancer. In my wife Sue’s and my life there have been many, many cancer battles by family and friends. In 1982, I found myself trying to understand how this could possibly be happening to my dad. He was diagnosed with Multiple-Myeloma, a bone and blood cancer with no known cure at the time. He was given 6-months to live by his doctors. His diagnosis became "our" diagnosis. His fight became "our" fight. We are all so grateful for the efforts, hard work, and accomplishments that the doctors, researchers and chemists had already achieved in the battle against Bone and Blood cancers (including the team from LLS). Their efforts allowed my father to take treatments (radiology and chemotherapy) that allowed him to extend his life more than 2-years. Yet we want more for the families that are faced with similar circumstances. We want more for all the patient's that are given the frightening news that they too have cancer. This is why my wife and I are dedicated to help raise the funds needed to allow the men and women of science and medicines to put an end to cancer. We firmly believe we will find a cure for these diseases in our lifetime. We look forward to sharing with our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, that we all took part in funding that cure!
