September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor the victims and survivors of childhood cancer. The American Cancer Society reports that approximately 9,910 children in the United States under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer in 2023. Cancer is currently one of the leading causes of death in children in the United States, and the leading cause of death in children by disease. The following organizations are working towards a shared mission of ending childhood cancer and supporting children and families impacted by a pediatric cancer diagnosis. These organizations are providing supportive services for children and families impacted by pediatric cancer and utilizing research and advocacy to innovate medical treatments and increase awareness surrounding pediatric cancer in an effort to find a cure.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15, recognizing the history, contributions, accomplishments, and influence of Hispanic and Latino cultures. Hispanic Heritage Month does not cover one single month but instead begins in the middle of September and ends in the middle of October. The timeframe of this month is significant because many Central American countries celebrate their independence days within these dates, beginning on September 15 with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. By aligning with these independence dates, Hispanic Heritage Month honors the resilience and determination of the Hispanic community.

September is World Alzheimer's Month, a global campaign dedicated to raising public awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The following nonprofits are doing the critical work to educate communities, support those living with Alzheimer's as well as their caregivers and families, and advocate for improved care and innovative treatment research.

A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on August 10, killing at least 111 people, damaging hundreds of buildings and leaving many trapped under debris. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Choco region, west of the capital of Bogota and was felt in neighboring countries of Ecuador and Panama. Cities across western Colombia, including Pereira, Quibdo, Cali, and Manizales, were affected. Your donation to this Fund will help support organizations as they work to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts in the region. Please note the organizations included in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about needs on the ground.

Hey Ampliteers! I've taken on an exciting challenge again this year: the 2026 TCS NYC Marathon! This one's extra special since it marks the 50th anniversary of the race. I'll be running 26.2 miles through all five boroughs of New York City for the second year in a row, once again in support of First Descents, an organization that provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. Just like marathon training, these experiences push participants beyond their limits, helping them reclaim their strength, confidence, and resilience. Thousands of individuals and families have had their lives devastated by the flash floods that struck Nepal on August 26th. Various charities and organizations have launched relief efforts to help those affected by this disaster. The APID and Carespace Employee Resource Groups are teaming up to sponsor this fund that consists of organizations that are directly contributing to aid for those affected in Nepal. We feel greatly for the people and families of Nepal and want to show our support. We ask those who can spare it to make a donation and take advantage of company matching to maximize our impact.
