Right now, our whole WildEarth Guardians Climate and Energy team, plus our indomitable Executive Director, John Horning, are in Washington, D.C. with a singular purpose—to put an end to leasing our coal, oil, and gas.

Exactly a year ago, we helped rally more than 400 groups in a call to the President to end new fossil fuel leasing of public lands. Since then, the Keep it in the Ground movement has notched critical victories. We’ve shut down oil and gas lease sales, secured a moratorium on new coal leasing, and brought unprecedented pressure against the fossil fuel industry.

On this September 15, 2016, we’re bringing things right back to where we started. Join us as we call on the President to put our future before the oil, gas, and coal industry.

It’s a simple ask, but the stakes are tremendous. If we stop leasing our coal, oil, and gas to the fossil fuel industry, we can protect our future.

Now is our time to step it up. Right now, the fossil fuel industry is demanding the Obama Administration auction off millions of acres of our western public lands for fracking. What’s more, the oil and gas industry has sued in federal court arguing the Administration has no choice but to lease fossil fuels.

This is out of control. The President needs to hear from us. Speak out today.

Because we know he’s with us. Just last week, he called the future trends around climate change “terrifying.”
