This family is one of the early adopters of the Sama Sama toilet, a social enterprise that iDE launched in 2016 to defeat diarrheal disease in northern Ghana due to poor sanitation. After they purchased their toilet, two next door neighbors quickly followed suit. On the wall of their home was written this quote—emblematic of the fiercely entrepreneurial spirit we at iDE use to help people lift themselves out of poverty—”Ambition is the ladder to success, and success is not a monopoly of one man, but the matter of hard work and prayers.”
