The Milwaukee Rescue Mission (MRM) addresses homelessness in Milwaukee through a comprehensive model of emergency intervention and long-term prevention. As Wisconsin’s largest provider of emergency shelter, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission meets basic needs and provides a continuum of care that promotes true life transformation for individuals experiencing homelessness. Alongside emergency shelter and comprehensive recovery programs for adults, MRM operates Cross Trainers Academy (CTA), a vocationally focused K4–12 school for at-risk youth in central city Milwaukee. Together, MRM’s shelter and school programs address homelessness at the point of crisis and through early intervention, helping to interrupt cycles of poverty before they lead to homelessness.
