Food Runners
Our mission: “to help alleviate hunger in San Francisco by providing businesses with the service of picking up their excess, nutritional food and delivering it to the shelters and neighborhood food programs. By doing this we hope to provide a network of information to all working to relieve hunger and to raise the consciousness of all in our community not to discard food.”
Food Runners is a volunteer organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in San Francisco.
Our volunteers deliver over 15 tons of food a week to agencies feeding people in need.
Food Runners picks up excess perishable and prepared food from businesses such as restaurants, caterers, bakeries, hospitals, event planners, corporate cafeterias, and hotels and delivers it directly to neighborhood food programs that feed the hungry.
