The Chicago Architecture Foundation dba Chicago Architecture Center’s (CAC) mission is to inspire people to discover why design matters. Architecture is a prominent reflection and tangible manifestation of society and culture and an art form that directly impacts day-to-day lives. Yet, the practice and process of designing and creating the built environment can be inaccessible to the public, and formal education in architecture and design fields is often unavailable in disinvested communities. CAC works to mitigate these issues, shifting the discussion of architecture towards an everyday experience, encompassing the places where we live, work, and play.
