Second Harvest of Silicon Valley
Lead our community to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one.
Raising A Reader
Through a network of more than 2,500 community partners (school systems, libraries, community agencies and others) across 32 states, in 2011 alone we reached nearly 118,000 children and families, almost 75 percent of whom were living at or below the poverty level, and more than half being English Language Learners. Since our inception, we have helped more than one million families build and sustain reading routines in their homes, with special attention to highest-risk for educational failure.
Family Giving Tree
Connecting those who can give to those in need with educational support, gifts, and volunteerism.
Palo Alto Humane Society
The Palo Alto Humane Society is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society.
