There are so many organizations doing amazing work for the LGBTQ community. To help you make the most impact, we partnered with Amplifunds to curate a fund of organizations where your donation is most needed today. Impact portfolio curator Altaf Rahamatulla has created the Promoting LGBTQ Rights Through Advocacy, Reform, and Culture Change Fund that consists of six non-profits below. Your Donation Supports

New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, Inc.

Founded almost 40 years ago, today the organization is one of the largest that focuses on challenging violence against LGBTQ communities. AVP and its allies track violence against LGBTQ people, and its most recent report, A Crisis of Hate, finds that in 2017, an 86 percent increase in anti-LGBTQ homicides nationwide from the year prior. Funding would bolster the critical services AVP provides and strengthen its ability to protect and work with the LGBTQ community.

F I E R C E

FIERCE is a membership-based organization, led and staffed by directly impacted youth, focused on building the leadership and power LGBTQ youth of color in New York City. Following a recent leadership transition, funding would help support the organization through a key inflection point, and continue its unique and innovative work to improve the lives of LGBTQ youth.

Griot Circle

The Griot Circle is one of the only community-based, multigenerational organizations serving LGBTQ elders of color, providing support and activities to remove isolation and fear, build community and honor cultural traditions. Support would bolster its programming to affirm the lives of this often marginalized population.

Services & Advocacy For Gay Lesbian Bisexual & Transgender Elders Inc. (Sage)

SAGE offers services and programs for LGBTQ older people throughout New York City, and nationwide through its affiliate network, SAGENet. Much of the discourse on LGBTQ rights unfortunately does not include older adults, and the work of organizations like SAGE is imperative to ensure a better future for all LGBTQ communities.

Sylvia Rivera Law Project Inc

Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SLRP) works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence. SRLP is one of the only organizations nationally that provides leadership platforms for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals to engage in policy reform. Funding would allow the organization to not only provide critical legal services, health information, and other resources, but also strengthen its work to enact reform.

Center for Anti-Violence Education

The Center for Anti-violence Education (CAE) works as a catalyst for change in the lives of women, LGBTQ people, and other communities affected by violence through a combination of education, physical empowerment, and leadership development. CAE has reached over 56,000 individuals and your donation will help them continue to reach more.
