Project Heal Help To Eat Accept & Live

My 13 year old daughter, Avery, was diagnosed with Anorexia in August 2017. The disease grips so fast and tight that she is currently in Arizona for residential treatment, away for at least 2 months. Avery's 14th birthday is March 15th. In recovery she has learned about Project Heal - a nonprofit started by two young women who met when they were 13 and in residential treatment together. Project Heal pays for treatment and care for families who want to recover but are unable to afford treatment. Unfortunately, insurance coverage for eating disorders is severely lacking, leaving many unable to get the help they need. Here is a note from Avery:

Dear wonderful friends and family,
I miss everyone so much! I love you all and I cannot wait to come home. While I have been here- I have been thinking. I know that I am not the first nor the last young women or man to go through this and I want to help in some way. I have found a website called Project Heal that I feel passionate about. It was founded by two young girls who both experienced eating disorders.

I have no desire for presents this year for my birthday, all I want is to help. I feel that this is the least I can do. Project Heal helps to fund families who are struggling with eating disorders, but don’t have the resources to pay for the support they need. My parents have put so much into making me better and I can never repay them, but that doesn’t mean I cannot pay it forward. By doing this, and helping me, you will also know in your hearts that you have helped someone in need! I hope that this isn’t too much! And of course there is no expectation for amounts or even anything at all. I encourage you to look into the website! And feel free to share the idea with your friends!! Thank you SOOOOOO much!!!!

Love you all so much!!
