End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

Why this cause needs your support

Nearly 10% of the world’s population, or 690+ million people, go to bed on an empty stomach every night. Since 2014, the number of people affected by hunger has been slowly rising; if it continues at this rate, it’ll exceed 840 million people by 2030.

Goal 2 seeks sustainable solutions to end hunger and to achieve food security by 2030....

children under the age of five suffer from severe acute malnutrition.

The goal of this fund is to end hunger.

To accomplish this goal, this Fund is supporting the following strategies

Natural Disaster Relief

Conflict is a key instigator of severe food crises, including extreme hunger and famine. Globally, conflicts are increasing, sometimes worsened by climate-related incidents. Weather-related disaster events as a product of climate change have also impacted food availability in many countries and thus contributed to the rise of food insecurity.

Supporting some of the best organizations

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has been on the front lines of the world’s worst hunger crises, fighting hunger and famine since 1962. The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has the scale and the expertise to serve people in places other organizations can’t reach. From emergency relief and immediate food assistance to long-term agriculture training and school meals programs, they're helping people build resilience and overcome the ravages of hunger. Consistent with the mission of the United Nations World Food Programme, World Food Program USA works with U.S. policymakers, corporations, foundations and individuals to help provide financial resources and develop policies needed to alleviate global hunger.

Edesia is a nonprofit organization that helps solve the world’s most alarming health crisis: malnutrition. Since 2010, Edesia has nourished over 13 million children in nearly 60 countries. Each year, millions of “miracle packets” are delivered into the hands of malnourished children all over the world by humanitarian aid workers working in some of the hardest-to-reach areas on the planet. Edesia has reached over 9 million children in over 50 countries since 2009.

WhyHunger believes a world without hunger is possible. We provide critical resources to support grassroots movements and fuel community solutions rooted in social, environmental, racial and economic justice. We are working to end hunger and advance the human right to nutritious food in the U.S. and around the world.

Groundswell International strengthens the capacity of people, communities and farmers’ organizations to create healthy farming and food systems from the ground up. They work with smallholder farmers – prioritizing marginalized women – to address the root causes of food insecurity, environmental degradation, climate change, and social and economic vulnerability. Their approach catalyzes a virtuous cycle of regeneration and growth, reversing the downward spiral of poverty and vulnerability.

The Food Trust has been working to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. The Food Trust's comprehensive approach includes improving food environments and teaching nutrition education in schools; working with corner store owners to increase healthy offerings and helping customers make healthier choices; managing farmers markets in communities that lack access to affordable produce; and encouraging grocery store development in underserved communities.
