Trae Holland, current Director of Academia Cotopaxi’s The One Institute in Quito, Ecuador, will be joining Safe Passage/Camino Seguro as the new Executive Director/Head of School. Trae will officially assume his new role on July 15, 2018.

Trae’s background uniquely qualifies him for this position. An educator and administrator with decades of experience, Trae has served as a high school and middle school teacher, as well as the Director of Development of the Polk Museum of Art in Florida. At his current position in Quito, he uses Spanish on a daily basis.

Trae has successfully built two small community outreach schools that served marginalized populations in demanding situations. Trae has been studying sustainable approaches to landfills for more than a decade, and has convinced municipalities to change their policies with regard to garbage pickers.

Trae has dedicated his career to service through education, community outreach, and leading programs that nurture all aspects of student learning and community betterment.

Trae’s hire as the new Executive Director comes at a strategic time as Safe Passage continues its expansion of full day school programming. Safe Passage welcomes Trae’s experience and guidance, and looks forward to having him join the team this summer.
