“I can’t count how many girls I have trained and who have gone on to pursue their dreams.”

Meet Sarita, a PCI-trained beautician living in New Seemapuri, India. She joined a PCI vocational center in 2001, where she learned life skills and was encouraged to stay in school. Although her formal education was discontinued in 2002 due to financial constraints, she continued her vocational training and went on to become a Peer Educator. Thanks to encouragement from the faculty and her friends, Sarita is now a Trainer who teaches other girls her skills as a beautician.

Women Empowered (WE) is a PCI global initiative dedicated to promoting the economic and social empowerment of women through the formation of self-managed and self-sustaining savings groups.

PCI provides training to savings group participants in governance, record keeping, savings and lending, and entrepreneurship. Regular group meetings also provide a platform for social support and individual leadership development, enabling women to become powerful agents of economic and societal transformation within their communities.
