To promote and encourage public interest in the welfare and compassionate treatment of all animals with an emphasis on companion animals.
To care for stray, unwanted, abused, neglected, sick or injured animals and where possible provide safe accommodation for them until such times as permanent homes for them can be found.
To provide immediate veterinary care for all sick animals which come into the care of the Society. To ensure that all animals that are available for adoption are, or will be, spayed and/or neutered.
To work with local veterinarians in developing a program that will provide a low cost spay and neuter program thus providing an incentive to progressively reduce the large number of animals that are born every year.
To educate the public on all aspects of responsible pet ownership with specific emphasis on the need to spay and/or neuter their pets.
