One of my friend’s brother- in- law works at the Quest Center and asked if Pacific Food would be interested in joining their Oct. 15th Virtual Livestream Fundraiser as a sponsor of the event. I think this would be an awesome opportunity to really put our mission statement into action by supporting the Quest Center’s values which align with Pacific’s mission of inclusion of ALL, health, wellness, and of course, nourishment. During the livestream, there will be a silent auction/live auction and special appearance. The MC is the fabulous Poison Waters and auctioneer is Misty Marquam. They are a delightfully colorful (in prose, personality, and attire). The purpose of the Quest 2020 virtual fundraiser will be to raise funding to provide healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured clients at Quest. This will include on-site (Quest has “softly” re-opened on a limited basis, following strict safety protocols) and telehealth services. Our current telehealth services include: - 1-on-1 therapy - Medication management - Mental health groups - 1-on1 substance use disorder counseling - Group substance abuse counseling - Peer mentor services - Nutrition class and “no contact” food delivery - HIV Services and the Women of Wisdom (WOW) - Chronic pain management - Meditation group Our current on-site services include: - Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine - Osteopathic Medicine - Naturopathic medicine - Alcohol and drug free housing for LGBTQ+ and non-binary individuals Our goal for the virtual event is to raise $50,000 for Quest Center to provide these healthcare services to clients. During the livestream on October 15, there will be a special appeal, live auction, new videos and content to show our community how Quest has successfully continued to provide services during the pandemic. This virtual fundraiser will be hosted by our MC, Poison Waters, and our auctioneer, Misty Marquam. There will be a silent auction that will be open online up to a week before the event. The event will be produced by Marquam Auction Agency, and filmed in a live production studio. The studio will have a limited production crew, and our auctioneer and MC will present the event while social distancing. The event will be accessed by viewers through a new donor software platform provided by schoolauction.net. This software will allow viewer to see the livestream will simultaneously bid on live auction items, and raise their paddles during the special appeal. More information on the event will be available soon on www.quest-center.org and the Quest Center Facebook, Instagram and twitter.
