NEWSCRED & JAAGO COVID 19 Donation Drive for Bangladesh Fund

While we are fortunate enough to be able to stay indoors and work from home, there are people in many countries who don’t have this luxury and are struggling to find a way to make ends meet. At NewsCred, we have always believed that every company has an obligation and responsibility to the communities in which we operate. One country impacted economically by the pandemic is Bangladesh - a country NewsCred calls home, with almost half of our teammates situated there. Since the government’s enforced lockdown on March 26, 2020, the vast underprivileged and low-income segment of the population has suffered the most, often not being able to have a single meal a day. The little savings that they had have been exhausted too, leaving them with no option to provide food for themselves and their families. In plight, a handful of organizations in Bangladesh are raising funds to help the underprivileged portion of their community. One such organization is JAAGO Foundation, a civil society organization that has been working towards the betterment of people below the poverty line in Bangladesh since 2007. The organization is currently raising funds to provide the low-income population of Bangladesh with food, emergency medicine, sanitation products, and protective gear. NewsCred has joined forces with JAAGO Foundation in this donation drive to facilitate meals and medication for those threatened by the economic adversities of COVID-19 in the local community.
