Wholesome Wave's mission is to empower under-served consumers to make healthier food choices by increasing affordable access to healthy, fruits and vegetables.

44M Americans spend $70B in SNAP (food stamps) annually, plus $63B of their own money on groceries = $133B annually! Wholesome Wave's goal is to shift how that money is spent nationwide.

If people can't afford produce, they can't buy it. But when they can, they do. And when millions of Americans eat more fruits and vegetables, we see immediate improvements for families and farmers and enormous long-term gains for public health, local economies, and the environment.

Groundwork Bridgeport Inc

Groundwork Bridgeport is a local, community based, volunteer organization dedicated to the environmental enhancement of Bridgeport urban landscape. Groundwork Bridgeport's main goals are to convert blighted areas of the City of Bridgeport, CT into gardens, parks, playgrounds and streetscapes; and to develop and implement environmental educational, awareness and self sufficiency programs as a means of improving the quality of life for all people in Bridgeport. There is a special focus on engaging youth volunteers in field programs to gain an appreciation for their environment and to reinforce a strong work ethic.
