About
On Wednesday, July 10th evening, seven people were killed and 30 more were injured in a violent storm that swept across Halkidiki, near the city of Thessaloniki. The storm, called Zorba, was dubbed a "Medicane" because of its location in the Mediterranean and its tropical-storm-like qualities. Such storms only occur once or twice a year, usually during September and October, when sea surface temperatures are warm. A reported 80% of the area is without power.
