The CDC Foundation advances the mission of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through effective philanthropy and public-private partnerships that protect the health, safety and security of America and the world.
Center For Disaster Philanthropy
The Center for Disaster Philanthropy works to increase donor effectiveness throughout the lifecycle of disasters through their educational resources, fund opportunities and strategic guidance. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, they have launched the CDP COVID-19 Response Fund to support preparedness, containment, response and recovery activities for those affected and for the responders. The CDP COVID-19 Response Fund will focus on supporting local nonprofit organizations working in areas identified as having high numbers of affected individuals and those who are working with the most vulnerable populations in these areas to help build their capacity for response. These will include social service organizations focused on supporting hourly wage earners, workers in the gig economy, immigrant/New American populations, older adults, people with disabilities and other communities vulnerable to the physical health, mental health and economic impacts of the pandemic.
Feeding America's mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage the country in the fight to end hunger. In response to COVID-19, they are working with member food banks and agencies to provide operational support and grants as food banks have to shift their feeding and distribution models to meal-boxes to meet the needs of the most vulnerable.
Convoy Of Hope
Convoy of Hope is a nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children's feeding initiatives, community outreach and disaster response. They are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by committing at least 50 truckloads of emergency food and water — approximately 2 million pounds of relief supplies — to people affected by the coronavirus.
