2021 Disaster Relief - COVID-19 India Fund

India has been experiencing a second wave of COVID-19 cases since mid-March, which has devastated communities and hospitals across the country. On Friday 23 April, the country's overnight total of over 332K new cases was higher than ever recorded globally since the start of the pandemic. With 2.4M+ active cases and 180K+ deaths reported as of April 23, the COVID resurgence in India has stretched existing medical infrastructure to the breaking point with a shortage of health workers and hospital running out of beds, oxygen supplies, ventilators and anti-viral drugs. The Cisco Foundation has launched a disaster response campaign to benefit responding nonprofits: Association for India's Development (AID), Americares, CARE, Direct Relief, Habitat for Humanity India, Oxfam India, Rashtrotthana Parishat, Sewa International, and Youth for Seva. The Cisco Foundation will match eligible donations up to $10,000 per employee. Donations will not be counted toward employees' annual $25,000 match limit. Note on Tax Deductibility: This fund includes U.S.- based organizations. U.S. employees who make a credit card donation will receive a receipt for tax deductibility for the portion of the donation contributed to these organizations. Employees outside the U.S. will not be able to receive a receipt for tax deductibility for credit card donations to organizations in this fund.

Habitat for Humanity India

Habitat for Humanity India is focusing their response efforts towards the marginalized and vulnerable families by provision of hygiene and family essentials kits across Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and North Eastern States.

Direct Relief

Direct Relief is working with local Indian nonprofits, global logistics companies and large-scale manufacturers to source and transport oxygen concentrators and other critical supplies into India.

Americares

Americares is mobilizing donated equipment and supplies including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, PPE and disinfectants; strengthening existing COVID health facilities and helping to set up new COVID quarantine centers; providing community health education; and will be supporting the government as they expand the national COVID vaccination program.

Rashtrotthana Parishat

Rashtrotthana Parishat has set up two COVID isolation centers with doctors, nurses and essential supplies, to care for those have tested positive for COVID but do not require hospitalization.

Sewa International Inc

SEWA International is raising funds and procuring medical equipment supplies including thousands of oxygen concentrators, as well as getting the equipment and essential supplies to hospitals, institutions, and individuals in India. They are also providing food and medicines to families, orphanages and senior citizens across the country.
