United Nations Foundation

The UN Foundation believes the United Nations is indispensable to tackling humanity’s greatest challenges and driving global progress. We act as a strategic partner to help the UN mobilize the ideas, people, and resources it needs to deliver, and grow a diverse and durable constituency for collective action. We focus on issues at the heart of the Sustainable Development Goals, build initiatives across sectors to solve problems at scale, and engage influencers and citizens who seek action. Partnership, and the power of smart and strategic collaboration, is in our DNA. We believe everyone has a part to play, everyone’s voice should be heard, and everyone has a stake.

Central Community Chest of Japan

Today, while the society has rapidly shifted to have fewer children and
more aged people, the residents' consciousness toward social welfare
has also changed. In such days that the society changes quickly, it
deserves special mention that many people not only ask for
substantiation of public social welfare systems but increasingly
challenge various social welfare issues in an active manner as shown in
Non-Profit Organization (NPO) or volunteer activities. Now we are in a
new development stage of nongovernment social welfare activities.
Under such a circumstance, the Community Chest Campaign is required
to play the role of urging residents to create a welfare community in
which people can live at ease at a place they have long lived based on
mutual aid of residents, and supporting various activities in the financial
aspect for creation of such a community.

Second Harvest - Japan

Second Harvest Japan aims at creation of Food Lifeline in Japan by providing food resources to those in need, such as children at orphanages, single mothers and/or disabled people at aid agencies, and other low-income households. Second Harvest Japan will create a community in which people without food security¹ can secure enough food resources, by cooperating with food providers.
